Center for healthy progeny
Center for healthy progeny is an
organizational unit which carries out prenatal and prelingual
speech pathology detection and diagnostics of problems in the
development of hearing, speech and language, behavior and
learning in children. Prenatal and prelingual early stimulative
audiolinguistic treatments are organized here, alongside with
education of parents.
KSAFA system in prenatal period
Risk factors during pregnancy are
detected in collaboration with gynecologist in charge. In the
period from 28 to 30 gestation week, gynecologist carries out
prenatal hearing screening (PHS). PHS is a non-invasive method
which represents extended procedure of standard ultrasound scan
of a pregnant woman with the influence of a defined sound
stimulus from the outside. The state of auditory perception of a
prenatal child is evaluated through relative change of
pulsatility index ratio (Pir) before and after sound stimulation.
PHS is intended for examining complete population in prenatal
period. Pir above referent values can indicate certain problems
in auditory reactibility of a prenatal child. This population of
children is included in prenatal audiolinguistic stimulation
which implies continuous theoretical and practical education of
parents and conducting control PHSs until birth.
KSAFA system in prelingual period
Otoacoustic emission (OAE) is
applied in maternity hospital. Population of newborns who did
not pass OAE test in CZP undergo audiolinguistic diagnostics of
prelingual development and parallel medical diagnostics in
medical centers. Depending on medical and speech therapy
diagnostics, population of newborns with detected dysfunctions
of auditory system undergo the procedure of early
audiolinguistic treatment by KSAFA-m apparatus alongside with
continuous education of parents - monitoring of speech-language
development, behavior and learning, as well as for the treatment
of children at home. Early detection, diagnostics and
stimulative treatment in prenatal and prelingual period
represents preventive work in the prevention of secondary and
tertiary disorder of verbal communication, and behavior and
learning in children with far-reaching consequences in the
context of working and creative potentials of the society on the
whole. |
