Electroacoustic laboratory
Since the very beginnings of the
Institute, after the concepts of Prof. Djordje Kostic, KSAFA (Kostic’s
selective auditory filter amplification) apparatuses of
different types have been developed. Near the end of the 80s,
Kostic introduced new conceptual changes in the construction of
KSAFA apparatuses, which are exclusively based on
audiolinguistic principles of hearing, speech and language
development. With that aim, he eliminated all visual and tactile
elements which until then represented additional elements of
KSAFA apparatuses. In the period of 1989 to 1995, together with
research fellows at the IEPSP he developed KSAFA-m, KSAFA-v,
KSAFA-u and KISAFA apparatuses. By new constructional solutions,
they introduced KSAFA apparatuses to the areas of all kinds of
speech-language pathology - from undeveloped speech, via all
types of speech-language pathology up to the promotion of
learning Serbian language as a foreign language. Professor
Djordje Kostic and IEPSP received the first prize and medal from
the Association of Inventors, Belgrade with the image of Nikola
Tesla on April 22, 1993 for the solution of KISAFA. Together
with research fellows at the IEPSP Prof. Kostic worked on the
development of new methodological procedures providing use of
KSAFA apparatuses from prenatal to adult period. In 1993 we
started working on coordination of standard apparatuses of ultra
sound and new defined generators of sound, which resulted in the
development of prenatal hearing screening after Sovilj-Ljubic
method. By the beginning of 2000 IEPSP research team started
developing the system of OAE (otoacoustic emission) –
apparatuses for TEOAE and DPOAE, as portable clinical
apparatuses for early diagnostics of hearing impairment in
children two or three days after birth. In EAL, expert system
for objective evaluation of pathological pronunciation of sounds
of Serbian language was developed. |
