KSAFA SEMINARS

KSAFA seminars are organized on two levels: seminars for introduction to KSAFA system and seminars for the application of KSAFA system. They are thematically organized for the application of KSAFA system in clinical services, preschool institutions, primary schools and special schools.

In the area of health services, seminars are organized for: gynecologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, audiologists, clinical psychologists, speech pathologists and teachers of the deaf, and in the area of education for: kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers, special educators, psychologists, pedagogues and special education teachers.

a) Seminars for introduction to KSAFA system imply acquiring of multidisciplinary theoretical knowledge from the following areas:   

-early diagnostics (IEPSP battery of tests),

-system of early habilitation of speech, language and hearing (organization, procedures and documentation),

-process and dynamics of the development of normal speech from the prenatal period to seven years of age,

-influence of verbal communication on correct cognitive and emotional development, and development of adequate behaviour and learning, 

-acoustics and electrotechnics,

-applications of KSAFA-m apparatus in all forms of auditory and speech pathology and behaviour and learning disorders.

This level of seminars does not offer the possibility of independent application of the system. Upon the completed seminar, attendants receive certificates.

b) Seminars for the application of KSAFA system are meant mostly for teachers of the deaf and speech pathologists. Depending on the professional profile of the attendants, in addition to acquiring theoretical knowledge, they have practical training for the application of KSAFA system in health institutions, preschool institutions, schools, etc. With the aim of providing holistic approach and integrative treatment, attendants have lectures from the following areas: psychophysiology, psycholinguistics, acoustic phonetics, applied linguistics, sociobiology, electroacoustics and acoustics, prenatal medicine, psychology, etc.

Application of KSAFA system implies:

- application of early diagnostic procedures for detecting disorders of metabolism, hearing, speech and language, behaviour and learning in children.

- acquisition of programs and procedures, organization and conducting of audiolinguistic treatment by KSAFA-m and KSAFA-v apparatuses in children with different degree of hearing impairment, disorders of speech and language development, speech and language pathology, and behaviour and learning disorders, from birth to adolescence).

- acquisition of procedures of monitoring child’s socialization, and supporting parents to include their child into educational system from crfche to university.

This level of seminars offers the possibility of independent application of KSAFA system in the areas for which attendants are given certificate. Every third year, attendants are obliged to take an exam for recertification of KSAFA system application.
